How to Improve Your Eyesight Naturally

Improving Eyesight Naturally

Several years ago, I began to notice that I was having trouble reading small print … this started with reading ingredients on small containers and progressed to real difficulty with reading the phone book, and then small print in books.

Off I went to an Optometrist, who measured my vision in a variety of ways and told me that I needed a pair of reading glasses. I was only a little surprised by this, but asked him if there was anything I could do to improve my vision, and got a flat ‘no’ as the answer. He explained that over age 40, close vision worsens … he added that within a few years, I should expect to need bifocal lenses, which would correct my vision at both near and far distances.

Somehow, this just didn’t seem quite right to me … and so I went off to see another Optometrist, where my vision was measured, and I was told exactly the same thing, almost word for word.
So, I got my prescription filled and began to use my new lenses for reading. After about a week of this, I found myself always looking for my glasses … I was no longer having difficulty with just the fine print, but ordinary larger print was now fuzzy and I marveled at how quickly my vision was deteriorating!

Thankfully, I got a pamphlet in the mail around that time about a seminar in Toronto where a woman named Elizabeth Abraham would be teaching people how to improve their eyesight. I registered immediately for the course and was there the next week, where Elizabeth taught us simple exercises that could be done to improve vision at different distances.

I went home, very excited about what I’d learned, and practiced the exercises religiously. After two weeks, I could read anything! Pill bottles, phone book entries, fine print on anything was absolutely clear … my glasses were too strong and completely unnecessary! I was absolutely delighted with this discovery and I immediately told both Optometrists I had visited, expecting them to be pleased and very interested in what I was telling them, but I was in for another huge surprise. They were completely uninterested, and actually spoke as though they had not heard what I was saying at all.

What was going on here? … this question led me through a series of training programs and countless hours of study of this whole phenomenon called “Natural Vision Improvement” as discovered by William Bates over 70 years ago. Since 1996, I have been privileged to teach many individuals and watched them improve their eyesight, many of them leaving glasses behind or avoiding surgery.

There is an alternative – an important alternative, to having eyes that cannot see, are unhealthy generally, needing prescription lenses and considering surgery. The alternative is completely natural, easy, interesting, and takes only minutes a day. I believe we each owe it to ourselves to learn how to care for our eyes, to see clearly, naturally and to guard and protect this most precious physical possession – eyesight. What could be more important?
